More PhotosI was born in Houston but grew up in Salt Lake City and have lived here most of my life. I was very fortunate to attend Brigham Young University and the University of Utah, where I earned degrees in humanities and biology. I also completed a graduate degree in public health at the University of Utah, with an emphasis on healthcare administration.
During my undergraduate studies, I was blessed to travel to many countries and experience many different cultures around the world. I lived in Chile for two years, serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I also lived in a small town just outside of Mexico City and worked in a small rural hospital. I then continued studying Spanish at the Universidad de Salamanca, Spain, and had the opportunity to travel through Europe while I was there.
I worked at the Huntsman Cancer Hospital for nearly 20 years and have been at Highland Cove Retirement Community for almost two years. While at Huntsman, I gained a tremendous amount of respect for seniors, which led me to Highland Cove. I have found the senior population to be made up of incredibly accomplished, humble individuals.
I'm grateful for my time traveling and experiencing different cultures because we have a very multicultural and multinational workforce at Highland Cove. We have a beautiful community, and our residents are the salt of the earth.
Over the last few years, Highland Cove has successfully weathered COVID. The experience has brought us together even stronger as a community to uplift and care for each other.
