Multiple residents were honored on Veterans Day at Cherry Creek Retirement Village for their service to our country.
This marks the eleventh year the building has set up a veterans display and invited the community to take part in honoring the veterans who live at Cherry Creek.
With patriotic music playing in the background, residents, staff and guests stroll through the foyer where veterans have decorated tables to showcase their service. Each table is personalized with photos, stories, model ships and various other memorabilia from their experience in the military.
Elizabeth Children, Cherry Creek’s Lifestyle Services director, also displays the final edition of the Lowry Airman Newspaper. Inside has the history of Colorado’s old Lowry base. She keeps it wrapped in plastic and brings it out once a year for this event. This paper was published from 1938-1994.
Century Park Associates is thankful for all our veterans, as well as the staff that go above and beyond in recognizing our country’s service men and women.
