Going the Extra Mile

We are excited to announce Sean Lovern as the Century Park Associates 2024 company-wide Going the Extra Mile (GEM) award winner. Sean has been an invaluable member of the Lake Pointe Landing team since February 2006, dedicating 19 years of service to the community. Throughout his time here, Sean has been a steady presence on the maintenance team, always greeting residents with a smile and going above and beyond in his daily work.

During the unprecedented challenge of Hurricane Helene in September 2024, which impacted Western North Carolina, the entire Lake Pointe Landing community came together to support one another. The storm tested the resilience of the entire team, but Sean's efforts truly stood out. He became the go-to person, supporting every department, and even canceled his vacation to be there when the community needed him most. In a selfless act of service, Sean personally transported water between buildings so residents at The Bridge could flush their toilets after losing access to water. He also worked tirelessly, adjusting his schedule to accommodate curfews and checking in with each department to ensure their needs were met.

Nominated by the leadership team at Lake Pointe Landing, they shared: "Sean is reliable, compassionate, and always goes the extra mile for both residents and associates. He has earned the nickname ‘Mr. LPL' because of his unwavering commitment to our community. Sean has always been a tremendous asset to our campus." Gary Gardella, Director of Maintenance Services, added, "If you want to see how highly Sean is regarded, just follow him down the hall and witness the positive reactions from residents and associates alike."

Rita Hood, Regional Director of Operations and Executive Director of Lake Pointe Landing, praised Sean as well: "Sean is one of those rare individuals who brings a positive energy wherever he goes. His work ethic and attitude are truly contagious."

When receiving the award, Sean was both surprised and deeply appreciative, humbly stating, "I couldn't have received this award without the support of everyone else." His humility reflects his true nature as a team player, always shifting the focus back to his fellow associates who work alongside him every day.

The entire Lake Pointe Landing Campus and Century Park Associates are immensely grateful for Sean's dedication and service to both the residents and his team. His hard work and commitment make him truly deserving of this recognition. Congratulations, Sean!
