January is a month full of inspiration and motivation. So, I’m sharing news on our January 2023 Going the Extra Mile (GEM) winners! They are the associates who went above and beyond the call of duty.
In the cold and cozy months, residents often hibernate due to the weather, therefore, the staff must keep them inspired to practice self-care. Prayer, meditation, exercise, or chair exercise, reading and playing Bingo are goods ways to engage residents both physically and mentally. Century Park associates start their day with smiling faces and warm greetings to residents and their families.
Listed below are five special notes sent with the nomination forms for our January GEM winners.
Daniel Boyd, Dietary Aide/Server - The Bridge at Farmington
Daniel always does an amazing job with helping our residents and making sure that their needs are met not only during mealtimes but throughout his shifts.
Luther “Jerry” Humphrey, Lifestyle Coordinator - Harbor Place at Port St. Lucie
Jerry leads with a servant’s heart, and this is what makes him simply the best at what he does with our residents both in Assisted Living and Independent Living.
Zola Thomas, Dietary Server - Harbor Place at Cottesmore
Zola started as a server in October 2021. During her time with us, she has shown tremendous compassion and dedication to the residents. She is a full-time college student and works every weekend.
Julie Freeman, Cook - The Bridge at Charleston
So thankful for Julie! She is selfless and dedicated to this community for more than 21 years. She continued to cook and run the kitchen when the community was without a dining services director.
Topeka Taylor, Resident Assistant - The Abbewood
Topeka always helps by offering to pick up shifts when they have call-offs. She brings items in from the store for residents on a regular basis. She makes sure the residents feel and look their best!
